Happy New Year, I’m excited to share with you what an outstanding year Seniors Helping Seniors and Managed Senior Care just finished. We provided more hours of care to the seniors in the west Michigan community than we ever have in our 10 year history. We continue to be regarded as one of the best and highest quality agencies in the community and that is simply because of you - What you do and how you do it. You are incredibly caring and professional caregivers and are a lifeline for so many families. As we look forward in 2020, we are focusing on the Seniors Helping Seniors brand and re-positioning the Managed Senior Care brand as a consulting service to other senior care companies. So you might see a little bit more SHS logo this year than in the past, but it’s all still us. And as the request above said, if you feel inclined, we would love to have you share what you think we’re doing right on the review sites. Getting your story out is how we will be able to help even more people this year. God Bless you and Thank You for all you do.

You Belong... with us
As we’ve moved through this year and grown in our use of the Paycor system to distribute training, we’ve been trying out ideas to help us stay connected. We’ve tried a little bit of everything - periodic phones calls, text, emails, newsletters and even coffee breaks. I won’t say we’ve hit a home run yet, but we’ll keep trying. If you have an idea for a social gathering that would promote connection and community let us know. We are committed to giving each of you the level of connection you seek with your team of caregivers. Watch for this quarter’s COFFEE BREAK announcements. We will have one in each territory during August and September.
Send ideas to N.RUDER@managedseniorcare.com.
Dementia Caregiver Training Opportunity
As more and more of our clients are dealing with dementia or Alzheimer's challenges, we have been looking for training resources to help prepare you for those assignments. In order for you to have the best caregiving experience, we believe you need access to helpful and appropriate training. Being confident that you can provide good care is essential to your experience with us.
I have two options to share with you:
1. Care Training Resource video program sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association.
This online program offers individual training in dementia care, as well as individual certification by the Alzheimer's Association to recognize those who complete the program and demonstrate knowledge of quality dementia care practices.
essentiALZ Dementia Basics: This certification can be earned after taking the approved prerequisite training, CARES® Dementia Basics (4 hours). The essentiALZ Dementia Basic exam covers the basics of Alzheimer’s and dementia care, understanding behavior, communication and person-centered care.
We have prepaid for several courses and will gladly offer a $40.00 bonus to each person who successfully passes the exam and becomes certified. Please call the Office to get started with this course.
2. If you are already familiar with Alzheimer's care and just need a refresher, or do not currently have any Alzheimer's client and want to start learning, this is a very helpful brochure you can print.
