Winter Weather Advisories
This is a good time to review winter driving safety and traveling to client’s homes. First and foremost, we always want you to be safe. Shifts can be rescheduled, if the roads are not safe to drive on. A bit late is always better than having an accident pushing to get to a client’s home.
If you are going to be late, call your Client. You can view your Client’s phone number in the Wellsky app by selecting Client from the Menu, then selecting their Name. Their profile with their address and phone number are displayed. The office will call to check on you if you are more than 20 minutes late, but we ask that you connect with your senior.
If you actually need to reschedule with your Client for another time, then please do that directly. Reminder, all rescheduled shifts must be completed by Saturday of the same week. Text the reschedule information to the office at 616-234-0190 as soon as you and your client have agreed upon it.
I am also re-sharing our annual winter driving safety tips. Take a minute and double check you have all the things you need in your car, before you go out in the snow. Bundle up and be safe. Driving can be frightening and dangerous. Make sure you have all the necessary equipment in your vehicle to arrive safely at your destination.
If you must head outside and the roads may be treacherous, please keep these things in mind.
Make certain your tires are properly inflated and have plenty of tread.
Keep at least half a tank of fuel in your vehicle at all times.
Never warm up a vehicle in an enclosed area, such as a garage.
Do not use cruise control when driving on any slippery surface, such as on ice and snow.
