Chances are you know someone, potentially a client, who has fallen or is afraid of falling. To help them combat this fear, A Matter of Balance has designed a program that has proven to help people manage their fear of falling as well as increasing physical activity. A Matter of Balance coaches achieve this by helping participants become more confident in managing their falls by increasing their strength, protecting themselves if they do fall, and finding ways to reduce the chances of falling.
Training is conducted in 8 two-hour sessions, and utilizes group discussion, videos, gentle physical exercise, and problem-solving strategies. Those who suffer from fear of falling are taught positive coping methods to reduce their fear in order to remain active and independent.
