Various opportunities to honor members of the military who died while serving the nation are taking place across West Michigan for Memorial Day. You don’t have to go somewhere to celebrate this solemn day. Here are some smaller scale ideas of how to bring the meaning of the day into your weekend.
Decorate - Stay home and deck out your living space with red, white, and blue decorations.
Have a moment of silence - It’s simple, yet powerful. Traditionally, the National Moment of Remembrance takes place on Memorial Day at 3 p.m. local time.
Visit a cemetery - bring flowers to place on a soldier’s grave and pray for their descendants,
